National Parks

In reverse chronological order: Joseph Canyon in Wallowa County, OR. And we saw NEOWISE here. Pretty obvious tail.

My family would have been very, very irate if I had insisted on driving out to Spiral Jetty from Golden Spike National Historical Park (35 miles roundtrip on gravel?)

Golden Spike featured beautiful replica trains that actually ran on the fuel (coal and wood) used by the original trains in their 1869 meetup. Horace is wearing his 4th grade pass to the National Parks.

Jane's birthday treat: the alpine slide and mountain coaster at Park City.

Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon. Where's Horace?

SO SO delicious. I will invite the proprietor to Seattle.

Leaving Capitol Reef National Park.

Capitol Gorge. Pioneer graffiti.

Lion's Head Trail near our cabin in Teasdale, Utah.

Our final evening in Baker, NV.

We walked up to the bristlecone pine grove on Wheeler Peak in Great Basin National Park.

We cooled off at the McGill Swimming Pool.

Most rest stops were of historical interest (in this case, the Lincoln Highway and the Pony Express).

Malad Gorge State Park.

Idaho?

Our first encounter with the Columbia.

The Selah Creek Bridge. And there was much more: the endless wheat fields of the Palouse, a wide variety of roadkill and lizard sightings. Still processing.
