We got a smidge of fall color at Rasar State Park off of Highway 20 this weekend
This park is so very quiet even though it's less than two hours from Seattle. It's right on the Skagit River.
Jane had a boring soccer game beforehand. She, like a few of her teammates, scored at least three goals. The other team wasn't very engaged, which is fine, because soccer is not everything.
Lots of interpretative signs.
After a somewhat restful night at the campground we drove a few miles east to Rockport State Park, which was also curiously quiet. The rain came back. So, a classic NW forest walk.
Old growth.
It's terrifying how much energy Jane has. She ran most of the trail.
