Anderson Island

Anderson Island! I'd never heard of it before last Wednesday when we learned that Jane's bestie, Nava, has a cabin there. I immediately went on high alert and pounced on an offhand remark liberally construed as an invite. And yesterday we zoomed down I-5 to Steilacoom to catch the ferry. The Tacoma-Narrows bridge sits in the distance.

I'd take it.

Dead, baked Dungeness.

Potbelly posing. Nava's family's cabin faces Mt. Rainier. It's a little intense, the way the West Coast can be (you know, Mesozoic-y). Horace kayaked ineffectually. We ate a whole bag of chips.

The largest Korean community in the Puget Sound area is in Lakewood, which is about three miles east of Steilacoom. Chicky Pub is alas closed! I wonder if the proximity to Joint Base Lewis-McChord has something to do with all the Koreans.
