Lake Wenatchee 2014

Camping was a success. The wind was way up our first day at the lake. So the skies were clear of wildfire smoke, and the water was teal.

The next morning we hiked to Hidden Lake. Horace didn't complain one bit, which was weird. 1.2 miles like a boss on a bear hunt.

We drove down to Leavenworth for German fare, Hugh's favorite. It was hazy with smoke in town, but our local slice of Bavaria was, how do you say, uberfullt. Busloads of Chinese tourists, even.

Milo arrived post-lunch. We swam and hectored to burn off that heavy meal.

Fire danger level EXTREME these days, you know. So campfires are verboten. But the s'mores came out fine.
